... because I believe all of life's moments should be photo-documented along the way. So why not spend hundreds of dollars and countless hours making them look pretty?

nerd-tastic

I'm super geeky-excited about the project I am just starting... for my 30th birthday, my hubby surprised me with a trip to Orlando with my sister to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.  Harry Potter scrapbook pages?!?  Oh yes!

I have a lovely purple leather album that I thought I would use... but I just couldn't bring myself to use an album that wasn't the same beautiful scarlet as the Hogwarts Express.  So I got this one instead.
D-ring, so I can add lots and lots of pages easily :)
Now, come to find out, Harry Potter scrapbook supplies aren't exactly easy to find.  I made a fantastic discovery in www.scrapyourtrip.com.  While most stores or sites have a little bit of everything, they have "everything of a little bit"- everything you could want for travel, vacation, or location scrapbooking, including super-specifics like Disney Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Sea World, and yes, Harry Potter :)  Plus their S&H is very reasonable.  Super friendly service too!  I can't say enough good things about SYT.

So here's my first Potter page... complete with my very own Hogwarts acceptance letter!  (Yup... I'm really THAT nerdy.)
I used the paper "frame" from my overpriced-but-had-to-have ride photo and put a clear pocket in it to hold the letter... that way you can see the letter, plus when you take it out of the pocket the WWoHP logo shows through.

I did a layout of the resort we stayed at with CTMH's Twitterpated paper pack, one of my favorites:
Can't wait to get my hands on all those Potter photos and supplies at my weekly Monday night scrap session tonight!

scrapping, B.C.

... that's "before children".

Here are some of my old pages from my early days of scrapbooking.  There are no pages from my very first scrapbook... frankly, most of them are just pretty ugly, and back then I wanted my pages to lay perfectly flat and smooth in the book, so I didn't embellish with anything but stickers.... boy, has THAT changed.

But I'm still sharing some oldies but... well, if maybe not quite "goodies", then let's call them "not too baddies".

From my honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta... I made an 8x8 album of all honeymoon pictures.

Sometimes the simple ones are my favorites... lets the photo speak for itself.

A real advantage to scrapping now as opposed to then is digital photography... these are all from the time when you had to take a single shot with your 35mm and hope it turned out.  Those were dark days indeed.

Here's one from an 8x8 album of my "firstborn"... the dog.
These are from the days when I hadn't scrapped enough to discover which brands I preferred, and before I made a point to buy matching things at the same time.  So it's just a random assortment here.

Here's one from the early days of my marriage:
I love black & white!

The next couple of pages are from my wedding album, which is a work in progress.  I actually only started it this year, so it's not technically B.C., but the photos are B.C.  So whatever.

This entire album will be done in black & white paper and embellishments from Creative Memories, plus cardstock in the wedding colors from Close to My Heart.

More pages to come soon... happy scrapping!

for all the paper ho's

I love to share my hobby with others... however, we scrapbookers really have our own little niche, huh?  You know what I mean... sure, your family and friends enjoy flipping through the pages of your books.  But I wanted to create a place for the people who linger over the pages, take note of every embellishment, and know what a Cricut and Cropadile are.  The people who want to know what techniques you used, where you print your photos, where you got those darling candy corn-shaped brads, and if you prefer post-bound, strap-bound, or D-ring albums.

Yep, you guys :)

Welcome to Paper Ho!  I will be blogging about pages, products, scrapping events, and anything else scrap-related.  Please share with me as well, and direct your scrapping friends and family my way!  Because we all know the best ideas come from scrapping with others.
